Why Is It Free? Who Pays for It?
This AC benefit is part of the Clean Heat project jointly promoted by New York State and the energy company Con Edison. Government funding encourages residents to replace traditional oil or gas boilers with more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient electric air conditioning systems.

Q2: How many AC units can be installed per household?
A2: The government approves the number of units based on housing type. Generally:

Q3: What type of AC is installed? How is its performance?
A3: We install TCL brand split-type heating and cooling air conditioners for free. TCL is one of China’s top four home appliance brands and a U.S. government-certified energy-efficient and eco-friendly product. This AC provides both cooling and heating, suitable for year-round use, and features WiFi remote control. You can operate it via smartphone, turning on only the units you need, making it highly energy-efficient.
Q4: Is the heating effect reliable? Will it be cold in winter?
A4: TCL air conditioners have strong heating capabilities. With an adequate number of units installed, they ensure every room in your home stays warm and comfortable in winter. They are smarter, more energy-efficient, and safer than traditional small boilers.
Q5: Can I apply if I don’t want to remove my boiler?
A5: Unfortunately, according to government subsidy regulations, the existing gas or oil boiler must be removed (only the connecting pipelines need to be dismantled; the entire unit is not taken away). We will assist in taking photos and uploading them to the government system to complete the approval process.
Q6: Will electricity costs be high?
A6: The air conditioner’s energy efficiency ratio is very high, and it can be flexibly controlled—for example, turned off when you’re out or set on a timer. In the long run, it’s not only environmentally friendly but also helps save on electricity bills!
